The average Bike to the Bay participant raises over $575. Here are some great tips to help you reach the $250.00 pledge minimum and your own fundraising goal!

Use your online Participant Center. |
| Let it do the work for you: email friends and family, track your progress and share messages of hope. You can even set one up for your team! |

| Establish a letter writing campaign. |
| Write to everyone you know and ask them to support you. Be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope, which makes donating convenient. View sample letters. |

| Your friends, family and co-workers will be more apt to sponsor an event that your are committed to yourself. Does your company match your charitable gift? |
| Educate yourself and your sponsors about MS. |
| Stress the importance of their donation, no matter how big or small. |
| Add a personal message to your voice mail. |
| Remind your friends and family of your commitment to the cause and encourage them to call you back with a donation. |
| Get the word out! |

Hang posters. Send emails. Leave voice mails. Distribute brochures. Spread the word that you are riding to end the devastating effects of MS. If you need brochures or posters, contact Karen Shore at 302-655-5610. |
| Ask everyone. |
| Businesses you frequent, your employer, co-workers, friends, family, neighbors - anyone who is willing to listen. |
| Host your own fundraising event! |

Bake sales, car washes, 50/50 raffles, dress down days, and garage sales are just some ideas of what you can do to raise money for your ride. Also consider hosting a party at your house or favorite hang-out and charge "admission." |
| Host a themed party. |
| Cocktails, game night, Oscars, pet birthdays, Super Bowl and wine. The possibilities are endless! Provide the food, drink and entertainment. Charge admission at the door to cover your costs and a reasonable donation. |
| Ask your spouse or other family members to help collect pledges too. |
| Enlist the help of others to further your network of potential donors. |
| Keep a pledge sheet at your desk, in your bag, or in your car. |
| You never know when you will find a potential sponsor. |
| Make sure you thank your sponsors after the event. |
| Remember you can use your online Participant Center to follow-up and send thank you emails. |
